Youth Awards
The Community Horse Youth Award is provided free to all equestrian competitions in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. We've donated more than 2,750!
The award is to be given to the youth (under 18) who has shown the best horsemanship and sportsmanship at the event. This is the junior who is NOT WINNING and is working hard with a great attitude. This may be the rider who was bucked off her horse, got right back on, and stayed calm and patient with her horse. Or, perhaps it's the young man who recognized that his horse was exhausted and scratched the rest of his classes.
Usually the event management chooses the gatekeepers or other show committee members to choose the winner.
Each award includes a rosette, stuffed pony, a two-year subscription to Community Horse, horse treats, and equine care products. (Larger awards for AA shows include wood grooming totes, spurs, and more!)
